Filling in as Nat Geo’s Digital Nomad

IMG_3903My friend Andrew Evans is taking a break from a breathless schedule of circling the globe as the National Geographic Traveler’s Digital Nomad. And I was flattered when Nat Geo asked me to fill in on a trip I’m in the middle of now: going from Boston to DC by train.

My first post for them is up: a bike ride from Cambridge to Concord to have a swim in Walden Pond, made famous from Henry David Thoreau’s two years there following his DIY creed of “simplicity, simplicity, simplicity!”

I’ll be honest, before researching bits of Boston, it never occurred to me you could. But locals have treated it as one of the best swimming holes in the region.

    I can say sounds like you definitely have an interesting life and job. I also travel the world every day in my job – i am a sports physio/trainer/coach for Olympic Teams, currently working for the Chinese and been 25 countries this year alone. And working for the locals also gives me that inside experiences of the culture.

    I’m sort of speechless about that. Amazing amount of things going on there. Do the Chinese have a luge team? Can I have a spare jersey?
